# What happened to a text

> After a text is sent, its page shows what happened to each number: queued, sent, delivered, failed, stopped or not sent, with who was left out and the cost.

Who this is for: Anyone with “Send text messages” (by default: Administrator).

Once a text is sent, open it from Club > Communications > Previous. The page that held the draft now shows the hold, then what happened to each number. It keeps itself up to date while the text goes out, and reports from the phone networks arrive a little later so **Delivered** can keep rising after the text has gone.

Under the heading, the text says its state (**Sending**, **Sent** or **Stopped**), its kind, and the date and name of the person who pressed Send.

## The totals

| Total | What it counts |
|---|---|
| **Numbers** | How many numbers the text was queued for. |
| **Delivered** | Texts the phone network says reached the phone. |
| **Sent, waiting to hear** | Texts handed on and not yet reported as delivered or failed. |
| **Failed** | Texts that could not be delivered, or could not be sent. |
| **Queued** | Texts not yet sent: the hold is running, or sending has not reached them. |
| **Held or not sent** | Texts stopped, skipped or not sent. |
| **Cost, about** | What the text costs in all, from the price of an SMS. It is an estimate. |

## Each person

**Each person** lists every number with the person it went to, and what happened. Choose **Only problems** to see only failures.

| Shown | What it means |
|---|---|
| **Queued** | Not sent yet. |
| **Sent** | Handed on to the phone network, with no report back yet. |
| **Delivered** | The network says it reached the phone. |
| **Failed** | It did not reach the phone, or could not be sent. The reason is shown beside the number. |
| **Stopped** | The text was stopped before this one went. |
| **Not sent** | The person replied STOP, or said no, between pressing Send and this text going, so it was skipped. |

Texts that never left, because the text was stopped or the person was skipped, are given back to the month's limit.

## Left out when it was sent

**Left out when it was sent** gives the count for each reason someone was not on the list, and, if you can see members, their names. The reasons are listed in [Write and send a text to members](https://sportsclubos.net/help/communications/send-a-text/index.md).

## What the page shows of the text

At the foot, **The text** shows what was sent, as the phone shows it, with how many SMS each was and the price of an SMS. A sent text cannot be changed. **Copy this message** makes a new draft from it.

## Where it is kept

The text is kept once in the **Sent** folder of the **Text/SMS** inbox, as one line for the whole send, for example **To 300 numbers**, with the name of the person who sent it. It is also kept against each member it went to, on their page: their **Message history** and **Messages** tab, and, under **Text message choices**, **Texts sent to this number** with what happened to each. See [A member's messages](https://sportsclubos.net/help/communications/member-messages/index.md).

## Replies

A member who replies STOP is taken off texts at once. See [STOP and START](https://sportsclubos.net/help/communications/stop-and-start-texts/index.md). Any other reply goes to the **Text/SMS** inbox, linked to the member whose number it is, and follows the text you sent. If the member had written to the club within the last week, the text is added to that conversation. A reply gets no automatic answer: a person writes back from the Inbox. See [Read and answer members' emails and texts in the Inbox](https://sportsclubos.net/help/communications/inbox-read-and-answer/index.md).

## What it does not show

Whether anyone read the text. Sports Club OS does not track that.
