Most often the email address or the password is not the one Sports Club OS has for you: reset your password from the sign-in page with **Forgot password?**. If that does not help, the reasons below are in the order they usually happen.

## The email address or password is wrong

The sign-in page shows a message under its heading saying it does not recognise them.

- Check you are typing the email address the club has for you, the one its emails come to. A different address of yours is a different login, or none.
- Check Caps Lock is off. Passwords are case-sensitive.
- Press **Forgot password?**, type your **Email** and press **Email me a code**. Type the code from the email and a new password, and press **Set password**. The page says **If that email has an account, a code is on its way.** whether or not the address has a login, so if no email arrives within a few minutes, the address is probably not the one your login uses. Check your junk mail first.

See [Sign in, and reset a forgotten password](https://sportsclubos.net/help/getting-started/signing-in/index.md).

## It is your first time, and the temporary password does not work

When the club makes you a login, you get an email with a temporary password. Type it exactly as it is in the email; copying it can add a space at the end. If it still fails, contact the club's administrator.

## The page asks for a two-factor code you cannot give

You turned on two-factor sign-in, and the page asks for the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.

- Type the code showing now: it changes every 30 seconds.
- Check your phone's time is set automatically. A phone whose clock is wrong gives codes that do not work.
- If you no longer have the phone or the app, contact the club's administrator.

> **Not built yet:** an administrator turning off another person's two-factor sign-in from the Users page. Contact the club's administrator.

## The page asks for a code from your email

You made your own login and have not yet typed the code Sports Club OS emailed you to check your address. Type it, or press **Send it again** for a new one, and use the newest email.

## You are signed in, but the page says you are waiting for approval

You made your own login, and the club office has not approved it yet. See [I signed up but can't see my membership](https://sportsclubos.net/help/me/q-portal-approval/index.md).

## Your login has been switched off

An administrator can switch a login off on its user page, for example when someone leaves the club. A login that is switched off cannot sign in. If you think yours should work, contact the club's administrator, who can switch it on again.

## You were signed out

If you untick **Keep me signed in**, you are signed out when the browser closes. Sign in again, and leave it ticked on a device only you use.

*For anyone who can: “Users and roles”*

## For the club's administrator

On Admin > Users, open the person's login. **Enable login** switches on a login that was switched off. If the person's email address is wrong on their login, they will not get a reset code: check it there.
