# Change several members at once

> Tick people on the member list to set their status, add a tag, switch Auto renew and invoice on or off, download them, or delete them, in one go.

Who this is for: Anyone with “Add and change members” or “See members and contacts” (by default: Administrator, Head Coach, Casual Staff, Reporting).

Tick people on the member list and a bar appears above it with what you can do to all of them at once. Use it, for example, to mark everyone who did not renew as Lapsed, or to tag a team.

## Before you start

- You need to be able to add and change members. The Administrator, Head Coach and Casual Staff roles can by default.
- Switching **Auto renew and invoice** for several people also needs the permission to raise invoices. Without it, that choice is not in the bar.

## Choose the people

1. On Club > Members > Members & contacts, filter or search the list to the people you want. See [Find members and filter the list](https://sportsclubos.net/help/members/find-and-filter/index.md).
2. Tick each person's box, or tick the box in the heading to choose everyone the search and filters match, including people further down than the list has drawn. The heading's box shows a dash when only some are ticked. Pressing it then chooses everyone the list matches; pressing it once more clears them all.
3. The bar says how many are chosen, for example **12 selected**.

### People ticked and then filtered out

Ticked people stay chosen when you change the search or filters, even if the list no longer shows them, and everything in the bar acts on them too. The bar then says, for example, **· 3 of them are not shown by the current filters**. Press **Keep only those shown** to unchoose them, or **Clear** to start again.

## What you can do

- **Set status:** choose a status in **Set status…** and press **Apply** beside it. For **Lapsed** or **Cancelled**, a second list asks why they are leaving; it starts at **Why leaving: not said**. A message says, for example, **12 set to Lapsed**. See [Membership statuses, and what Expired means](https://sportsclubos.net/help/members/statuses/index.md).
- **Add a tag:** choose a tag in **Add tag…** and press **Apply**. It is added to everyone chosen who does not have it; nobody loses a tag. A message says, for example, **12 tagged Pennant**.
- **Auto renew and invoice:** choose **Auto renew: on** or **Auto renew: off** in **Set auto renew…** and press **Apply**. Everyone is changed in one go. The message says how many were changed and how many were left as they were because they pay monthly or have nothing to renew. - **Export:** downloads a spreadsheet of the chosen people only, with the same columns as **Export CSV**.
- **Delete:** deletes the chosen records, after asking. See [Delete a member, and what is kept](https://sportsclubos.net/help/members/delete-a-member/index.md).
- **Clear:** unchooses everyone.

## If something goes wrong

- **The message counts fewer people than you chose.** A record that could not be saved is left as it was, and an error says why. Run it again for the rest.
- **The list looks unchanged after Set status.** If the list is filtered by status, people you changed may now be filtered out. Check the Filters panel.
