# Put the join form on your website

> Where the club's public application form is, where its fees come from, how to link it from the club's website, and how to test it.

Who this is for: Anyone with “Membership applications” (by default: Administrator).

People apply to join the club on its join form: a public page, with no sign-in, where they choose a membership, give everyone's details and name a proposer. Each application then waits on **Applications** for the committee. The form needs no setting up of its own, but its fees come from the club's membership types, and people need a way to find it.

## Before you start

- Membership applications are for the Administrator alone.
- Set up the membership types first: [Set up membership types and fees](https://sportsclubos.net/help/setup/membership-types/index.md). The form shows each category with its type's annual fee, its joining fee and what joining this month costs, so the fees are always the ones the club invoices.
- Only types ticked **Available for new members** are offered. A category whose type is switched off is left off the form.

## What the form offers

The form offers the club's membership categories, which start as Adult, Youth, Junior and Social, and a Family rate for three or more people at one address. Each shows who it is for, what it includes, and a note. One application covers a whole family, with every person's name and date of birth. The applicant names a proposer, who must be a current member, or attaches a letter in place of one; a seconder is optional. The steps an application goes through are in [How an application moves from the form to election](https://sportsclubos.net/help/applications/how-it-moves/index.md).

> **Not built yet:** a page for the club to change the form's categories and wording. The categories, who each is for, what each includes and the club rules the applicant agrees to are set when Sports Club OS is set up for the club. Read them through when you test the form below, and ask whoever looks after Sports Club OS for your club to change any that are not right. What applicants and the office then see is described in [What Membership applications does](https://sportsclubos.net/help/applications/overview/index.md).

## Find the form's address

1. Open Club > Members > Applications.
2. Press **Open the application form**. The form opens in a new tab.
3. Copy its address from the browser's address bar.

## Link it from the club's website

- **If the club's website is edited in Sports Club OS**, its Join page already shows the same form, and applications from it arrive on Applications. Nothing to set up. See [What the Website editor does](https://sportsclubos.net/help/website/overview/index.md).
- **If the club has a website of its own**, add a **Join** button or link on it that goes to the form's address. Most website builders have a button block that takes an address.

## Test it from start to finish

1. Open the form and apply, with an email address you can read. Choose a category and name a current member as proposer.
2. The applicant is emailed a link. Open it, press **Confirm my application**, then **Confirm and send**. Nothing reaches the office until then.
3. The proposer is emailed at the address the club holds for them, and asked to say yes or no.
4. Open Club > Members > Applications: the application is there under **To decide**, as **Waiting for proposer** until the proposer answers, then **Ready for committee**.
5. Record the test application as withdrawn, so it is not left waiting for the committee. See [Decline an application, or record that the applicant withdrew](https://sportsclubos.net/help/applications/decline-or-withdraw/index.md).

The public form never says whether a proposer's name matched a member, so it cannot be used to find out who belongs to the club.
