How to
Answer as a proposer or seconder
A member named as proposer or seconder answers from the link in their email, saying whether they know the applicant and support the application.
Who this is for: Anyone: no sign-in needed.
When someone applies to join and names you as their proposer or seconder, the club emails you at the address it holds for you: … has named you as proposer for membership (or seconder). Your answer goes to the committee. You do not need to sign in.
Answer
- Press Answer now in the email. A page opens: You have been named as proposer, and Do you know …?
- If you know them, type how long you have known them. Add anything you would like the committee to know, if you wish.
- Press Yes, I know … and support the application, or No, I can't support this.
The page then says Thank you. For a yes, Your support has gone to the committee.; for a no, We have let the club know.
If you do not know the person, press No. The applicant is not told what you answered; the club follows it up.
Good to know
- Each answer can be given once. To change it, contact the club.
- The link works for 30 days. The office can send a fresh one.
- Once the application has been decided, the page says This application has already been decided. There is nothing more to do.
- If you press Yes without saying how long you have known them, the page asks: Say how long you have known them.
