A till PIN is locked
Five wrong tries in a row lock a till PIN for 15 minutes. Wait, or set a new PIN on Password & two-factor, which unlocks it at once.
Who this is for: Anyone with “Use the till” (by default: Administrator, Head Coach, Casual Staff, Bar Manager, Bar Staff).
A till PIN locks after five wrong tries in a row, for 15 minutes. Wait for the time to pass, or set a new PIN, which unlocks it at once. While it is locked, the person's name is left out of the till's list of staff.
Why it happens, and what to do
- Your own PIN was typed wrong five times. The till said That PIN is not right, and it is now locked for 15 minutes. Wait 15 minutes, or sign in to Sports Club OS as yourself on any computer or phone, open Password & two-factor from the account menu and set a new PIN under Till PIN. Nobody else can set it for you.
- You forgot your PIN. Set a new one in the same way. Setting it again replaces the old one.
- Too many wrong PINs on one till. Ten wrong PINs on one till within 15 minutes, from anyone, stop switching in and approvals there: Too many wrong PINs on Bar. Try again in 12 minutes. Wait for the time given, or use another till.
- Too many wrong PINs in one seller's approvals. Ten wrong manager PINs asked for by one seller within 15 minutes stop that seller's approvals for 15 minutes.
- A manager's PIN is too short. Someone who may give overrides, or change the till's products and settings, needs a 6-digit PIN. The till says, for example, Ada A.: set a 6-digit PIN on Password & two-factor. Set a 6-digit PIN.
Your name is not on the till
If your name is not in Who is on the till? or in the list for a manager's approval, either you have no PIN yet or yours is locked. Set one on Password & two-factor. See Till PINs and switching between staff.
