How to

Prepare and print scoring codes

Make a scoring code for every match ready to play, or for one day's order of play, and print them as cards to put at the courts.

Who this is for: Anyone with “Run competitions” (by default: Administrator, Sports Convener).

Before a match day, the convener can give every match a scoring code and print the codes as cards, one for each match, to put at the courts or hand to whoever marks. Anyone with a card can score that match on their phone, signed in or not. See Score or watch a match with its code.

The Sports Convener can do this by default. Your club can give it to other roles on Roles & permissions.

Make the codes

  • For a whole competition: open it from Club > Competitions > All competitions and press Make codes for every match ready to play. A match that already has a code keeps it. The message says how many were made, for example Codes made for 3 matches; 1 already had one.
  • For one day: on the competition's Order of play, choose the Day, then press Make codes for this day. Every grade of the event in that sport is included, as the order of play shows them.

A match is ready to play when both players are known. A match further on in a draw gets its code once its players are known: make the codes again then.

  1. Press Print codes on the competition, or Print this day's codes on the order of play.
  2. A page opens with a card for each match that has a code: the competition and round, the two players (anyone under 18 as first name and initial), the court, day and time if set, the QR code large, the code, and Score or watch at sportsclubos.net/score.
  3. Press Print. On A4, six cards fit on a page, with a dashed line to cut along.

If no match has a code yet, the page says so: make the codes first, then open it again.

What happens next

The codes follow the usual rules: each works while its match is ready to play or being scored, stops when the result is recorded, and stops 14 days after it was made if nobody starts. If a card goes missing, replace that match's code under Scoring code on the match, and print it again.
