Setting up
Set up the club's TVs
Put each of the club's TVs on Displays, open its link once on the TV, choose what it shows, and decide how members' names appear on the court boards.
Who this is for: Anyone with “Make and change displays” (by default: Administrator, Head Coach, Casual Staff, Sports Convener, Functions).
The club's TVs show what Sports Club OS gives them: a court board for each sport, the day's classes, the day's functions, slide shows the club makes, and competition boards. Each TV is set up once and then changed from Sports Club OS, without touching the TV.
Before you start
- Making and changing displays is for the Administrator, Head Coach, Casual Staff, Functions and Sports Convener roles by default.
- Each TV needs a web browser that can be left open on one page: a smart TV's browser, a small computer, or a tablet.
- Decide how names show on the court boards, since anyone in the clubhouse can read them: on , Club, Names on the public screen. See The court board in the foyer.
The steps
- Make what the TVs will show. The court boards, Classes today and Today at the club are ready made, on . To show the club's own slides (opening hours, coming events, a welcome), make a display there: Make a display.
- Add each TV. On , press Add a screen, name it and say where it is.
- Put its link on the TV. Press Copy link, open the link once in the TV's browser, and leave it there. The link needs no sign-in.
- Choose what it shows, from Showing on its card. The TV follows within a few seconds.
Each step is described in full in Set up a TV and choose what it shows. A screen showing a competition board is changed from Competitions, not here: see Wallboards and putting a board on a TV. A function can be welcomed on a screen too: see Welcome a function on the club's TVs.
Check it worked
Each screen's card on Displays plays a preview of what the TV is showing now. Look at the TV itself once, to check it is filled and readable from where people stand.
