How to
Score a quick match on your phone
Anyone can score a squash, tennis, padel, pickleball or badminton match on their own phone at sportsclubos.net/score, and let others watch with a code.
Who this is for: Anyone: no sign-in needed.
A quick match is a match you score on your own phone, with no account and no club, in squash, tennis, padel, pickleball or badminton. It uses the same scorer as a club's match. The match is kept on that phone only, until you choose to let others watch. It is free; the Free match scorer page says more about it.
Before you start
Open sportsclubos.net/score on your phone. It works offline once the page has been opened, so you can score where there is no signal.
Make the match
- Press Create quick match. The steps are numbered at the top, such as Step 1 of 4, with Back to go to the one before.
- Under Which sport?, press Squash, Tennis, Padel, Pickleball or Badminton. Each names the rulebook it is scored by, such as World Squash Singles Rules 2025.
- Under Singles or doubles?, press one. Padel is played only as doubles, so it skips this step.
- Under Who is playing?, type a name for each player (four in doubles). Any names will do; they stay on the phone. You can also type a name under Name the match (if you like), such as "Thursday night".
- Press Next: the rules. The rules shows the sport, the rulebook and the scoring, for example Best of 5 games to 11. At 10-all: two clear points. The rulebook is used unless you change it: press Change the rules to choose another format or one of the older or local rules, and Back to the built-in rules to undo that. The built-in rules in words lists them.
- Press Start the match. The scorer opens at Ready to play.
Score it as you would a club's match: the warm-up, the toss, then press the side that won each rally. Press More for the rarer calls. Each sport's calls are in its own article: squash, tennis and padel, pickleball and badminton.
Let others watch
- Press Share at the top of the scorer, beside Dark. It is there from Ready to play until the match ends. Let others watch under More does the same. Sharing needs an internet connection.
- A code such as Q-7K3MX and a QR code appear. Anyone who scans the QR code, or types the code at sportsclubos.net/score under Enter a code, sees the score as it changes. They cannot change it.
- Press Close to go back to scoring. While the match is shared, its code shows at the top in place of Share, with a green dot. Press the code to show the QR code again.
Nothing about the match leaves the phone until you press Share or Let others watch.
Anyone with the code or the link can see the names and the score. The shared match is deleted automatically a day after its last point. Press Stop sharing to delete it sooner.
At the end
When the match is over, the scorer shows the summary. Press Record the result. Then:
- Email the result, right under the result, opens your own email app with the result in a new message. To fill in who it goes to, type one or more email addresses in Send to (optional) first. Sports Club OS sends nothing and keeps no address.
- Share the result opens your phone's share sheet with the result written out. It shows only on a phone that has a share sheet.
- New match starts another quick match.
- Matches on this phone opens the list of every quick match kept on the phone.
Your earlier matches
The home page at sportsclubos.net/score lists the three latest matches under Matches on this phone, newest first. Each row gives the players, the sport, the match's name if it has one, the date and where it is up to: Not started, Warm-up, In play with the score, Finished: the result is not saved yet, or who won. A shared match also says shared as and its code.
- Press a match to open it in the scorer, where you left it.
- With more than three, Show all previous matches (with the number) opens a page listing every match on the phone. Press Back to return.
- To delete a match, press the bin at the right of its row. It changes to Press again to delete; press it again within four seconds. Deleting takes the match off the phone for good, and stops sharing it.
If something goes wrong
- Sharing needs an internet connection. The phone is offline. Scoring carries on; press Share again when you are connected.
- There is no shared match with that code. The code is mistyped, the match finished more than a day ago, or the scorer stopped sharing it.
- A quick match is kept in the phone's browser. Clearing the browser's data removes it.
